Due to the changes, some information on the website may be outdated.
Dear Neuroergonomics community,
This is a stressful time for everyone and the current situation is likely to have repercussions for the rest of 2020. We will not compromise on the well-being and academic standards of our community. Therefore, we believe that postponing the meeting is the right thing to do.
We have:
- been monitoring the situation since early 2020 and following the updates of the World Health Organization and local health authorities
- taken into account that travel restrictions could exclude international participation
- recognized that postponing the event could be inconvenient and disappointing for some participants
- considered the pressures facing early career researchers
- concluded that postponement is the best decision to ensure ‘peace of mind’ across the community
We are confident that our community will emerge from this experience, stronger and more resilient. We hold fast to our commitment to apply neuroscientific theories and methods to ensure productivity, safety, and satisfaction in times, both good and bad times. NEC-2021 will be a wonderful scholarly and social experience, to celebrate the best work in our field. We will strive to keep our exciting program, which currently includes 3 academic keynotes, 1 industry keynote, 14 plenary talks, 2 expert panels, at least 10 tutorials, and a student hackathon, unchanged.
Until further notice, we will continue to accept abstracts, although deadlines will be moved to accommodate this crisis.
Meanwhile, the organizing team is working hard. We seek to make the conference even more accessible and to set up a high-quality special issue on Neuroergonomics that would rapidly follow the conference itself.
We value your feedback and hope to hear of your experiences in these trying times. We are a community and support for one another is needed, now more than ever. You are welcomed to discuss your research challenges and plans on our discussion forums and to follow us on our social media feeds. We wish you good physical and mental health!
